The Difference Between a Wedding Stylist and a Wedding Planner
I’ve spoken about this on previous blogposts but wanted to outline clearly the difference between a wedding stylist and a wedding planner (fyi at Spark Alice we do a little of both).
So what does a wedding planner do?
They do the logistics. This can be anything from helping you work out your budget to coordinating timings for on the day. They will guarantee your day is completely stress free and will even take on the admin for you, saving you a lot of time and worry.
A planner usually has countless spreadsheets on the go and can spread their wings far and wide. They are problem solvers, making sure everything is done properly and all suppliers are doing what they are supposed to.
What does a wedding stylist do?
A wedding stylist will completely align with your vision for the day, creating a roadmap and then moodboards that will include colour palettes and any decorative details. They will source suppliers, including the florist, stationer, lighting and even your venue, that fit with your design and will work closely with them to bring it all together.
They will source all the decorative props and then will put this all together the day before or day off the wedding. A lot of the time they will also take it all down and make sure everything is sent back to where it is supposed to and on time.
A stylist will help those that really care about the style and design but are really struggling to bring all their ideas together. We know the best suppliers, the best venues and know exactly how to bring your vision to life. The goal, if you go for the full styling package, is for you to walk into your venue on the day of your wedding and be absolutely blown away.
Wedding planning or styling can usually take between 200 and 400 hours, so if you think you might need a helping hand then why not fill out our contact form and we can have a chat about all things wedding.
